Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage 2000 family Winner of Eco-Responsibility Award

The Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage 2500 has won the Eco-Responsibility Award in this year’s Information Age Innovation Awards.

Invited by Information Age, a leading IT magazine in the UK, to showcase a solution for eco-responsibility and eco-innovation, Hitachi Data Systems submitted the Adaptable Modular Storage 2500, with emphasis on its power savings feature. Hitachi Data Systems’ EMEA Eco Solutions Champion, Alec Selvon-Bruce, was asked to videotape a discussion of the unique and innovative eco attributes of the 2500. After filming, the video was posted on the Information Age website. Over 500 Information Age readers and online visitors were invited to vote for the top solution.

The Adaptable Modular Storage 2500 beat stiff competition, including Dell, to win the Eco-Responsibility Award. This is a significant achievement for our modular range and underlines industry recognition of our leadership in and commitment to sustainable IT. The award builds on the success of the 2008 Computing Awards’ Hardware Provider of the Year, where the judges especially noted Hitachi Data Systems environmental leadership.
